What is togetherlife?
Togetherlife is the word we're using to describe what happens when young people become part of a community of faith - learning to live out their lives together with God and with one another. We think they need soul friends, peers to journey with. We believe "discipleship" involves learning to love one another, as Jesus loves us ... and getting stuck in to mission, sharing good news, and being salt and light from day one.
Like you, we've read the stats on church-leaving - and we've talked and listened to churches, young people, youth workers, and to other missions and organisations about what "keeps" young people in church and in a growing faith relationship. The vision for togetherlife comes out of those conversations: we hope R/T/F can play a part in helping young people find spiritual friendships and develop spiritual habits that could last a lifetime.
What is ROOTS / TOGETHER / FURTHER?
R/T/F is:
- designed for 11-14s
- intended for use in small groups of 3 to 5
- equipped with a package of starter resources that last about a term, and principles and a way of meeting, talking, and praying together that we hope will last much longer
- a combination of things to do by yourself, and things to do together - encouraging daily prayer, Bible reading, reflection, and conversation
- created to compliment, not replace, your existing youth work, groups, or cells
